Omaha-based bank FNBO announced it has closed its acquisition of Blue Ridge Bank and Trust Co. in Independence, Missouri.
The acquisition adds Blue Ridge’s eight Jackson County branches to FNBO’s existing Kansas City market, making FNBO the fifth-largest deposit market share in Kansas City, according to a Thursday release.
FNBO first entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Blue Ridge and its more than $850 million in assets in June. Founded in 1958, Blue Ridge is an independently owned community bank.
“This process has only made us more excited to have Blue Ridge join FNBO,” Joe Close, FNBO’s Regional Leader for Kansas City, said in the release. “We continue to be impressed by the Blue Ridge team, and we look forward to continuing to add to the positive relationships, culture and reputation they’ve spent decades building.”
FNBO plans to rebrand the Blue Ridge Bank and Trust Co. branches and complete customer conversions in early 2027. Once converted, FNBO will have 37 branches in the Kansas City metro area.
Last year, FNBO acquired Country Club Bank, which included 20 branches in the Kansas City metro area. The deal officially closed in October, with FNBO absorbing nearly $2.2 billion in assets. Following the Country Club Bank deal, FNBO began to operate 120 branches.
FNBO (First National Bank of Omaha) is a subsidiary of First National of Nebraska, Inc. (FNNI). Headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska, FNNI and its affiliates operate with $35 billion in assets and more than 4,500 employees.
