City Wide Heads North of the Border

By Ian Ritter

City Wide Maintenance Co., the Lenexa-based building-maintenance and janitorial-services franchisor, is opening its first location in Canada, in southwestern Ontario, and the firm has plans to further expand in the country.

The company’s leadership announced its intention to enter Canada at the beginning of the year.

City Wide management says that it cleared just over $250 million revenue last year, a 17.5-percent increase from 2017, as featured in Ingram’s Top 100 Privately Held Companies. It currently has franchisees in about 60 North American regions and a new location is expected to open in Fort Myers, Fla., by the end of the year.

It focuses on interior and exterior services, including janitorial cleaning, supply management, floor care, window washing, lawn and landscaping, parking lots, snow removal, handyman work and other areas. Its franchisees reportedly care for 100 million square feet of space around the country every day.
