Best Companies To Work For


Thank you for your interest in participating in Ingram’s Magazine’s “Best Companies to Work For,” an annual feature that shines the spotlight on companies that have created the best workplaces in the region through a strategic mix of compensation, benefits and organizational culture. In addition to the information requested below, please feel free to submit any HR documentation outlining benefits for employees, descriptions of training and development programs or other materials that warrant consideration. Those additional materials can be emailed to Editorial@Ingrams.com.

This program showcases local workplaces that have won the loyalty of their employees and the respect of the business community. Submission deadline for eligible companies (those not recognized in 2022 or 2023)  is Friday, March 1, 2024. Please provide the following information to be considered for the 2024 competition:

    This person will handle marketing and public relations questions.
  • HR Director
    This person will receive all communication from Ingrams and will be the main contact for questions regarding the application and/or from the judges.
  • NOMINATOR
    Please provide information on the person completing this form.
  • CEO. PRESIDENT, MANAGER
    Please provide name and contact information of the person in the highest-ranking position in the Kansas City area.
  • COMPANY DEMOGRAPHICS
  • Total Employees (excluding temporary/seasonal/per diem)

  • Please explain, in roughly 500 words overall, why your company should be named a Best Company to Work For. We are particularly interested in learning more about your company policies, practices and demographics, and its philosophies in the areas of:

    MANAGEMENT PRACTICES: Including areas such as leadership, advancement opportunities, planning and communication.
    TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT: Including areas such as employee training programs, continuing education and advancement.
    PAY AND BENEFITS: Competitive/innovative salary structures, medical coverage, employees savings plans such as 401(k) accounts (with specifics on matching formulas), flexible spending accounts, access to fitness programs and discount programs, flex hours, etc.
    WORK ENVIRONMENT: This includes areas such as role satisfaction, teamwork, and corporate culture.
    FINANCIAL OUTLOOK: This includes areas such as job, facility expansion and company financial stability.
    COMMUNITY SERVICE: This includes areas such as donating time and/or dollars and paid time off to volunteer.
    Previous winners are eligible for consideration every third year. Finalists from prior years are invited to submit a nomination each year. Your organization may submit electronic or printed employee handbooks, training materials, company forms, brochures and/or relevant literature to supplement your entry.
