Yellow ushers in new president

Just months after rebranding to Yellow Corp. from YRC Worldwide, the Overland Park-based trucking and logistics company has made Darrel Harris its new president. Harris has been with Yellow since November 2020, and moves up as the company’s CFO and Chief Network Officer make their exit.

Overland Park-based Yellow Corp. has named a new president.

The trucking and logistics company, formerly known as YRC Worldwide Inc., promoted Darrel Harris to the role.

Harris joined Yellow in November as executive vice president of strategic initiatives. The industry veteran previously was CEO of Tennessee-based Xpress Global Systems and has held sales and operations roles at big freight companies, such as FedEx Freight.

In his new role, Harris will assume some of the responsibilities of retiring CFO T.J. O’Connor and Chief Network Officer Scott Ware, who is resigning.

“Darrel is well-positioned to help drive Yellow toward a vibrant future. He brings innovative, exciting ideas and leadership to his new role,” Yellow CEO Darren Hawkins said in a release. “He started his trucking career working the docks, and few are better positioned to understand this industry than those who have worked at all levels.”
