Veterans Community Project in KC to build new resource center

The nonprofit organization announced plans Wednesday to build a navigation center. The new center will provided a centralized resource location for veterans needing help with civilian life matters.

The Kansas City, Mo. non-profit Veterans Community Project announced Wednesday morning plan to build a navigation center.

Plans for the new center will focus on making it a location for compiled veteran resources all in one place.

The campus will replace an auto repair shop and dealership on the northeast corner of East 89th Street and Troost Avenue, near the VCP’s tiny home village and headquarters. The organization also operates an outreach center in the same area.

CEO Bryan Meyer said the campus will basically recreate the centralized location on military bases which help service members with military matters, only this campus will focus on civilian life. Information will be available on how to access healthcare, find a job, or even join a veterans-specific club.

Construction on the new campus should begin within the next few months. It will open in about a year and a half, but VCP will be offering services during the construction timeline.
