Two Kansas City-based software developers, Viagio Technologies and Code Koalas, have announced a merger between the two companies.

Viagio is now the primary brand for the two companies, while Code Koalas will continue as a sub-brand focused on serving non-profits and marketing agencies, according to a Tuesday release. The merger will allow the two companies to bring complete offerings to their current and future clients.

Ryan Wyse, founder and CEO of Code Koalas, will become CEO of the combined entity, while Scott Lippert, president of Viagio, will continue in his role.

Founded in 2011, Viagio Technologies, formerly Artisan Technology Group, creates software solutions for firms across an array of sectors such as insuretech, engineering, financial services and sports & entertainment. Its clients include Alden, Pepper, CFM Insurance, the U.S. Engineering Co. and others. Viagio merged with BalancePoint in 2017 and acquired Engage Mobile in 2018, according to Viagio’s website.

Founded in 2009, Code Koalas is a web development agency that specializes in innovative user experiences and responsive designs built on open-source web content management systems like Drupal and ReactOS. The company has designed websites for The National WWI Museum and Memorial, the American Jazz Museum and the KC Ad Club.
