Two Area Accounting Firms Unite With Merger

Two area accounting firms–St. Joseph-based CliftonLarsonAllen and Gottlieb, Flekier & Co. of Overland Park–announced today that they had joined forces, effective Dec. 1.
The deal gives CliftonLarsonAllen an office in Kansas, where Jerry Gottlieb, Steve Flekier, and Danielle Bordman will remain with the combined firm.
“We talked to some smaller firms that wanted to act like a large firm,” Steve Flekier, a partner at Gottlieb, Flekier, said in a release announcing the deal. “We wanted a large firm that acted, operated, and functioned as a small firm.”
Retaining the personal service and approach clients receive today is critical, he said, and broadening the capabilities and resources available to meet clients’ needs was consistent with the firm’s commitment to its clients.
“It will be business as usual,” adds Gottlieb. “With a lot of upside.”
