Three Companies Celebrate the Grand Opening of Combined Office Space in the Crossroads

Centric, Superior Bowen and Inspired Homes celebrated the grand opening of their new headquarters at 520 W Penn on Wednesday, Sept. 19. The building was once an animal-health lab in 1919 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

“The building is really the entry to the Crossroads from I-35; whether you’re coming from the north or the south, it’s the first thing you see coming off Twentieth Street as you get into the heart of the Crossroads,” said building architect Brad Satterwhite. “We’re excited to give that great first impression using a building that’s from the 1919s, now renovated to a contemporary use, mixture of businesses. We’ve saved a building that has a lot of history to it and now is something that really sets the stage for a lot of progressive buildings and art to go on within the culture and center of Kansas City.”

Mayor Sly James discusses the importance of making this historic building new again.
