Theme Parks, Like Worlds of Fun, Face Changes

Theme parks, such as Kansas City’s Worlds of Fun, will not be be running in business-as-usual mode when they start to re-open, due to social distancing requirements that will change the capacities of rides.

For its part, Worlds of Fun does not have a reopening date yet and is postponing many of its large summer events through 2021.

“As the coronavirus (COVID-19) matter remains a part of our daily lives, the team at Worlds of Fun continues to work with health and safety experts as we plan for increased safety measures and operational changes throughout our park,” said a message on Worlds of Fun’s website.

Analyst opinions on when parks open are mixed, according to CNBC, with some seeing certain states opening them on June 1 and others saying they won’t likely open until 2021.
