The Highest Paying Healthcare Jobs In Kansas City

Based on a recent series of analyses from Zippia, the majority of highest-paying jobs in Kansas City are in the healthcare industry and salaries compare well when looking at other cities.

Data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics was used to determine the highest-paying jobs in cities across the U.S., according to Zippa.

The Top 10 Highest Paying Jobs In Kansas City:

  1. Assistant Professor Of Surgery (APS) – $332,385
  2. Rheumatologist – $329,325
  3. Cardiologist – $298,636
  4. Psychiatrist – $263,580
  5. Hematologist – $263,033
  6. Hospitalist Physician – $260,639
  7. Hospitalist – $257,149
  8. Pulmonary Physician – $256,243
  9. Operator And Truck Driver – $255,306
  10. Obstetrician/Gynecologist – $253,647

The highest occupation goes to assistant professor of surgery accompanied by an average salary of $332,385 and an entry-level salary of $164,000.

Using Zippa’s data, Becker’s Hospital Review comprised the top three highest-paying jobs from 30 U.S. cities. The same job could be found in the top three in cities such as Atlanta, Portland and San Antonio.

However, when comparing the average salary we start to see a difference in income. An APS in Atlanta makes $319,386, Portland makes $470,384 and San Antonio makes $289,640.
