The Best Hospitals In KC Ranked and Continue to Break Records

The rankings for best hospitals recognized in the Kansas City metro by U.S. News & World Report’s released Tuesday and it is safe to say residents are in good hands.

The four highest-ranking hospitals in Kansas City are; the University of Kansas Hospital, Saint Luke’s Hospital of Kansas City, North Kansas City Hospital and Saint Luke’s East Hospital.

The University of Kansas Hospital took the highest spot and ranked nationally in eight adult specialty categories along with high performance in an additional 2 specialties and 17 procedures/conditions.

“We are humbled and honored to be recognized year after year as the Best Hospital in Kansas City and Best Hospital in Kansas by U.S. News & World Report,” chief operating officer and chief nursing officer of The University of Kansas Health System, Tammy Peterman said in a release.

This would be the 14th consecutive year the University of Kansas Hospital was named the Best Hospital in Kansas City.

Saint Luke’s Hospital of Kansas City is ranked third in Missouri and second in the Kansas City metro area. The hospital was ranked nationally for specialty in cardiology, heart & vascular surgeries.

Saint Luke’s East Hospital was rated high performing in eight procedures.

“The past several years have been an incredibly challenging time in health care,” chief operating officer and senior vice president of Saint Luke’s Health System, Julie Quirin said in a release. “To continue to be recognized for our ability to provide care at the highest level is a testament to the intense commitment and dedication of our Saint Luke’s physicians, nurses, and our entire team of Health System professionals.”

NKCH ranked third among hospitals in the Kansas City area for a fifth consecutive year and has high-performance ratings in 10 procedures.

“The continued recognition of our organization is a reflection of the dedicated work of our doctors, nurses and staff,” president and chief executive officer of NKCH and Meritas Health, Stephen Reintjes Sr., MD said in a release.
