Olathe-based Terracon has acquired Metcalf Archaeological Consultants, Inc., expanding services in the Rocky Mountains and Central and Northern Great Plains.

Metcalf’s 72 employees will join Terracon and operate as Metcalf Archaeology, A Terracon Company, according to a release.

Metcalf’s services will deliver solutions for commercial development, energy, federal, state, and tribal agencies, transportation, telecommunications and utilities. Metcalf’s FactorEarth technology will allow clients to leverage the platform’s data-collecting applications.

“We are delighted to welcome the Metcalf team to Terracon and are excited to share their talents and expertise to our clients in the west and across the U.S.,” Gayle Packer, Terracon president and CEO, said in the release.

This is the fifth acquisition Terracon has made this year. Last month, Terracon announced it had acquired Flat Earth Archeology, a cultural resources management firm.
