Olathe-based Terracon announced it had acquired Flat Earth Archeology, a cultural resources management firm that plans to expand the company’s environmental planning services.
Founded in 2008, Flat Earth Archeology is headquartered in Cabot, Arkansas and provides clients with environmental planning and cultural resources services. The firm offers archeological surveys, testing and mitigation as well as consultations for meetings between tribal nations and government agencies.
Flat Earth’s staff of 11 employees will immediately join Terracon and the firm will continue operations under the name Flat Earth Archeology, A Terracon Company, according to a release Monday.
“Flat Earth’s team is an excellent fit with our existing business operations in Arkansas and allows us to strengthen our operations regionally,” Gayle Packer, president and CEO of Terracon, said in the release.
The transition will see Terracon’s existing operations in Little Rock and Springdale, AR; Springfield and Joplin, MO; and Oklahoma City and Tulsa, OK, support the Flat Earth team.
This acquisition marks Terracon’s fourth acquisition this year. In July, Terracon announced it had acquired Harbor Environmental and its 38 employees. Before that, the company announced its acquired SAGE Environmental and SAGE EnviroTech Drilling Services in June and Texplor of Dallas in January.
