Terracon Acquisition Expands Services in Northeast

Olathe-based Terracon has acquired Rhode Island-based SAGE Environmental and SAGE EnviroTech Drilling Services.

Terracon announced the acquisition, the company’s second acquisition in 2024, in a Monday release. Terracon’s existing operations in Hartford, Connecticut, the Metro Boston area and the Northeast support the addition of SAGE.

Founded in 1995, SAGE Environmental is an environmental consultant firm that specializes in site assessment and remediation solutions.

SAGE’s 33 employees are a part of Terracon, effective immediately. They will now serve clients under SAGE Environmental, A Terracon Company and SAGE EnviroTech Drilling Services, A Terracon Company, respectively, according to the release.

“We are excited to offer our clients access to the high level of expertise and quality of environmental and drilling services that SAGE offers,” Terracon president and CEO, Gayle Packer said in the release. “With their established, award-winning track record, we are confident SAGE will provide even more clients in the Northeast with excellent service.”

Terracon expanded its Texas footprint by acquiring Dallas-based firm Texplor of Dallas, Inc., in late January. The firm has also been rounding out its C-suite leadership after adding a new chief legal officer and chief administrative officer in April.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The transaction was brokered by Matheson Financial Advisors of Natick, Massachusetts, and McLean, Virginia.
