Stinson Merging with St. Louis IP Firm

Stinson Leonard Street is at it again: Just weeks after opening a second office in Denver and absorbing a small law firm to boost its presence in Dallas, Stinson announced this morning that it was merging with one of Missouri’s biggest firms specializing in intellectual property law.

The union with St. Louis-based Senninger Powers will formally take place on Oct. 1, adding 28 attorneys to the current Stinson count of about 450 in 14 U.S. locations; roughly 135 of those are in the Kansas City office. Senninger Powers will bolster Stinson’s footprint in St. Louis and add capabilities in patent, copyright and trademark law, serving clients from key sectors such as life sciences, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing and software.

The moves are part of a strategic plan put in place for growth and acquisitions after the former Stinson Morrison Hecker firm in Kansas City merged with Minneapolis-based Leonard, Street and Deinard in 2014.
