Supply chain and hi-tech storage solutions company Smart Warehousing announced it will be expanding into the Kansas City market thanks to its latest acquisition.

Overland Park-based Smart Warehousing purchased Beyond Warehousing, which operates two locations in Edgerton, Kansas and one in Kansas City, Missouri. The acquisition adds Beyond’s warehouse facilities to Smart’s roster of 23 facilities nationwide.

“We are thrilled to welcome Beyond Warehousing into the Smart family,” Smart Warehousing CEO, Carl Wasinger said in a release. “This acquisition aligns with our strategic vision of providing comprehensive and innovative supply chain solutions to meet the evolving needs of our clients. Together, we will leverage our collective expertise and infrastructure to drive growth, optimize supply chains networks, and deliver exceptional service excellence.”

Founded in 2001, Smart has over 9 million square feet of storage facilities and employs approximately 500 workers, according to the company’s LinkedIn page. Smart’s proposition of 1-2 day shipping across the U.S. and an inventory-accuracy rate of 99.8 percent led to a 22 percent increase in revenue in 2022; racking in $151.74 million that year.
