Royals Fall to Giants in Game 4

By Joe Sweeney

Kansas City starts off strong with a 4-1 lead only to see it erode to a productive 16 hit 11 run rally by the Giants to capture Game 4.

What started looking good for the Royals heading into the bottom of the 5th inning, the tide turned quickly in favor of the Giants who capped two runs to tie the ballgame heading into the 6th.

The Royals failed to score in the top of the 6th and the Giants quickly capitalized for three runs in the bottom half of the inning off rookie reliever Brandon Finnegan. That put the score at 7-4 heading into the 7th inning, the Giants weren’t done however scoring four in the 7th to seal the fate of the Royals in Game 4 of the World Series.

Tonight James Shields squares off against Giant ace Madison Bumgarner with first pitch slated for 7:07 p.m.
