The personal finance website, WalletHub, has released its Fastest Growing Cities report for 2016. The fastest growing city in the U.S. was Frisco, Texas (part of the Dallas-Fort Worth metro) and the slowest was Jacksonville, North Carolina.
How did Kansas City fair? Overall: 438 out of 515. Among large cities: 52 out of 64. First and last places in the Large City category went to Austin, Texas and Detroit, Michigan.
While Kansas City’s numbers don’t seem impressive, a look inside them gives cause for optimism. For instance, a 3.23 percent growth in median household income put the city in the top quarter of cities overall for that category.
The report also shared some good news for entrepreneurs. The amount of venture capital being invested in Kansas City rose by 16.2 percent.
