Renderings Of New $120M UMKC Healthcare Delivery and Innovation Building

The University of Missouri-Kansas City has released renderings of its planned $120 million dollar Healthcare Delivery and Innovation Building and is expecting to break ground next year.

UMKC expects to break ground on the project in 2024 and complete it in 2026, according to a release.

The new six-story 200,000-square-foot building will be constructed on what is now a parking lot at 25th and Charlotte streets.

“The new Healthcare Delivery and Innovation Building will be one of a kind,” UMKC Chancellor Mauli Agrawal said. “We know of only one other combined medical and dental education building in the nation, and none other that will include what ours will with a unique combination of collaborative programs focused on elevating health care.”

The facility will include UMKC School of Dentistry clinics, School of Medicine labs, the UMKC Health Equity Institute, UMKC biomedical engineering as well as space for the Data Science and Analytics Innovation Center.

Funding for the project:

  • Included in the last two budgets from Governor Mike Parson and passed by the Missouri General Assembly, the state of Missouri has committed $60 million,
  • The Sunderland Foundation has pledged $30 million,
  • The Hall Family Foundation will contribute $15 million and
  • $10 million will come from federal funding secured by former U.S. Senator Roy Blunt.
