Project starts to add 676,000 SF to KCI Intermodal

Developers Trammell Crow Co. and Clarion Partners LLC have broken ground on a project to build two new industrial buildings at the KCI Intermodal BusinessCentre, southeast of the of Kansas City International Airport. Each will be Class A warehouse facilities capable of housing multiple tenants. Construction is set to wrap by the end of 2021.

Developer Trammell Crow Co. and partner Clarion Partners LLC have broken ground on two Class A warehouse and distribution facilities in KCI Intermodal BusinessCentre.

Construction is expected to complete by the end of 2021. The first will be a 216,320-square-foot called LogisticsCentre VII at 10410 NW Transcon Drive, the second a 459,680-square-foot LogisticsCentre VIII at 9900 NW Global Ave.

The structures are designed with structural steel frames, concrete tilt-up walls and 7-inch thick concrete floors.

The two groundbreakings come as the development partnership nears completion of KCI Intermodal BusinessCentre’s sixth building, the approximately 350,000-square-foot LogisticsCentre VI.

The building’s other leases include two logistics providers: Unified Network Information Services, to occupy 145,600 square feet, and DHL, to occupy 43,680 square feet.

Plans call for an additional 1.2 million industrial square feet in the 687-acre KCI Intermodal BusinessCentre, spanning three buildings after LogisticsCentre VII and VIII are complete.

Counting its six current facilities, the park would support more than 4 million square feet of Class A distribution space fully built out.
