Kansas City-based Populous announced the acquisition of OJB Landscape Architecture.
OJB will maintain its current studios and leadership while collaborating across Populous’ network, according to a release. Populous has now grown to more than 950 employees in the Americas and more than 1,600 worldwide.
The two firms have collaborated in the past, including Baylor University’s McLane Stadium, which opened in 2014.

“We are committed to expanding the breadth of our practice and the impact of our work,” Bruce Miller, Chairman and CEO of Populous, said in the release. “OJB Landscape Architecture is globally recognized for its exceptional landscape architecture, urban design and planning and its ability to create meaningful, enduring public spaces.”
OJB is an award-winning architecture and design firm. Founded in 1989 by James Burnett, the firm now operates with six offices, including its headquarters in Houston, Texas, in Boston, Dallas, Denver, Philadelphia and San Diego.
“Populous shares our belief in the power of design to bring people together and shape communities. Together, we can extend the reach and impact of our work, creating more integrated and meaningful environments for people around the world,” Burnett said in the release.
In February, Populous announced the opening of its new Atlanta office, the firm’s 16th location in the Americas.
