Polsinelli Tabs Two to Lead KC Office

Polsinelli, which has more lawyers on staff than any other law firm based in Kansas City, has announced that two of them will oversee the Kansas City office, in new roles created under the firm’s new chairman and CEO, Chase Simmons.

The firm announced this morning that Mary Jane Judy and Greg Kratofil, Jr. would become office managing partners for Kansas City, the largest office in the firm, which has 22 locations nationwide. 

Both Judy and Kratofil–members of the Ingram’s 40 Under Forty Classes in 2016 and 2013, respectively–have spent their entire legal careers in Kansas City and with Polsinelli, the firm said in a news release. They also have leadership roles in their practice areas, and have well-established records of nonprofit service and community engagement. Judy, who began with the firm in 2006, is a member of the firm’s real-estate practice, while 20-year veteran Kratofil is chairman of the technology transactions and data privacy practice.

Judy’s practice focuses on complex real-estate transactions, and she leads teams of lawyers on large portfolio transactions, from dozens to hundreds of properties. She also advises health-care clients on unique regulatory issues related to their real estate holdings. Mayor Sly James recently appointed her as president of the Board of Kansas City Parks and Recreation Commissioners.

Kratofil provides strategic guidance in the creation, acquisition and use of technology. He is a recognized leader in the health-care technology and information-security industries. He also has been integral in the development of Kansas City’s technology startup community, assisting entrepreneurs with formation, financing, technology development and licensing.
