Kansas City-based Platform Ventures announced its South Dakota unit Vertical Cold Storage has purchased a new facility in Burleson, Texas to improve the company’s storage capacity for its customers.

Dakota Dunes-based Vertical Cole Storage develops and operates temperature-controlled distribution centers and is sponsored by real estate investment firm Platform Ventures. The new facility will be the second facility the company has located in the Dallas-Fort Worth market.

The facility, located adjacent to Interstate 35, will be 400,000 square feet with an average clear height of 55 feet and 53 dock doors. It will also feature multiple rooms convertible to -20 degrees Fahrenheit. The new warehouse will employ up to 70 full-time team members, according to a release.

The facility is located at 6501 Highpoint Parkway, according to the company’s website.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed

In November, Vertical Cold Storage announced it held a groundbreaking for its Kansas City multi-modal distribution site located adjacent to the CPKC intermodal terminal in south Kansas City, Mo. The facility has over 300,000 square feet of storage space and approximately 50,000 pallet positions. The facility is expected to employ 130 full-time workers when complete.
