Pinnacle Regional Hospital Closing

Pinnacle Regional,in Overland Park, is apparently shutting its doors after filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.

In a recent letter to employees, the company’s Chapter 11 trustee said that it is closing due to “unforeseen and unexpected business circumstances, including the disruption to a wide range of surgeries and business operations created by the COVID-19 pandemic,” according to a KCUR report. 

Formerly known as Blue Valley Hospital, it is also closing Blue Valley Surgical Associates clinics throughout Kansas and Missouri. At the beginning of the year, Pinnacle Health Care System shut its hospital in Boonville, Mo.
