PBI-Gordon Selects Brayer Exec as its Next COO

Shawnee-based PBI-Gordon Cos. announced Dr. Jackie Applegate joined the company as chief operating officer, assuming her later this month.

Applegate will begin her role effective, July 8.

Prior to joining PBI-Gordon, she most recently served as the President of the North American Crop Science business of Bayer. At Brayer, she began as a process development chemist before serving executive roles in the agricultural and non-crop industries, according to a release.

Applegate will lead PBI-Gordon’s three subsidiaries; PBI-Gordon Corporation, which provides leading products to the turf and ornamental industries; Pegasus Laboratories, which is a leader in the development, manufacture, and marketing of companion animal pharmaceuticals; and PetAg, which develops, manufactures, and markets nutritional products and supplements for companion animals

Applegate will report directly to PBI-Gordon president and CEO Steve Clifford.

Founded in 1947, PBI-Gordon Companies is employee-owned with over 970 employees. The manufacturing firm manufactures herbicides, insecticides, fungicides and growth regulators for consumer garden, farm and ranch markets.
