Overland Park-headquartered Netsmart buys Florida health technology company

Netsmart Technologies, Inc. adds to its portfolio with Florida-based Tellus, LLC, a health technology company that specializes in electronic visit verification and handles home health care claims.

Overland Park-based Netsmart Technologies Inc. has bought an out-of-state health technology company, Tellus, LLC.

Based in Florida, Tellus specializes in electronic visit verification and home health care claims. Other services include appointment scheduling, caregiver check-in and checkout, and more.

Prior to the acquisition, Netsmart had offered electronic visit verification (EVV) to clients. The recent purchase, however, no allows the company to condense to one EVV solution.

create robust data sets to drive different approaches to care, and ultimately, better patient outcomes. 

Vince Koehler, vice president of marketing at Netsmart, said he anticipates EVV to play a big role in the era of COVID-19, as he expects demand for it will only grow among home health services.

Tellus’ headquarters in Deerfield Beach, Fla. will be kept by Netsmart, and plans to keep the majority of Tellus’ 60 employees, adding to Netsmart’s 2,000 employees.
