National real estate survey shows the pandemic has brought some positives



Of 25,000 real estate businesses polled nationwide, 65% reported that despite obvious negative brought on by COVID-19, the pandemic has also resulted in emerging opportunities for business.

A survey from RealEstateBees.com showed that of 25,000 active real estate businesses polled, 65% reported that despite the negative impact on business caused by the COVID-19, they also saw new emerging opportunities caused in part by COVID-19.

The poll was titled “Impact of the Coronavirus on the U.S. Real Estate Businesses” and gathered input from real estate agents in all 50 U.S. states and Washington D.C.

When asked if there is a negative impact the pandemic is having on real estate business, 51.4 percent reported “moderate”, 29 percent reported “considerable” and 19.6 percent reported “none.”

Another questioned asked, “Has the pandemic opened any unexpected opportunities for your business?” to which the majority reported “yes” at 75.1 percent, the rest “no” at 24.9 percent.

The question asking “How are you adjusting your marketing budget?” resulted in several different responses, although the majority reported “not adjusting” at 59.1 percent

Other questions included “Are you transferring your business to a ‘work from home’ basis?” which showed 36.9 percent transferring entirely, 34.2 percent transferring partially and 28.8 percent not transferring.

One of the last questions asked was “Have you noticed any benefits of transferring your business processes to a ‘work from home’ basis?” the majority at 63% saying “yes.”
