MU Returning to Arrowhead Stadium in Showdown Against Arkansas

The University of Missouri is returning to Arrowhead Stadium next year to play its annual Thanksgiving game versus the University of Arkansas at the facility.

Called the Battle Line Rivalry, it will be sponsored by Shelter Insurance and played on Saturday, Nov. 28. Another MU game against an opponent in the Power 5 conferences of the NCAA could be played at Arrowhead during the 2021 to 2024 seasons.

It will be the Missouri Tigers’ last regular-season game and mark the first time the team has played in Arrowhead since 2015, when it beat Brigham Young University 20-16. Missouri played the University of Kansas at Arrowhead annually, from 2007 to 2011. MU has a 6-2 record at games it has played in Arrowhead.

Economic-impact forecast figures were not immediately available for next year’s contest. Nashville’s Music City Bowl last Dec. 28 reportedly had a $24.6-million direct impact on the area’s economy.
