MarksNelson Acquires Marsh & Co.

One of the biggest accounting and consulting firms headquartered in the Kansas City area is getting bigger: MarksNelson this morning announced its second acquisition of 2015, with Overland Park-based Marsh & Co. being absorbed effective Jan. 1.

“This acquisition is right on target with our strategic growth plan,” said Mark Radetic, managing partner at MarksNelson. “With our expanded range of services, we are able to give our clients more resources while providing assurance they’ll still be working with the same people and receiving the same high level of service they’ve always received.”

Marsh & Co. is a specialist in tax-credit consulting and audit services for real-estate professionals, developers and historic preservationists in the region. Michael Marsh, managing partner at the firm, will stay on with the merged company.

Earlier this year, MarksNelson acquired Community EDGE, a St. Louis firm, and launched its Location Strategies Practice. In addition to accounting, the firm’s services include assurance, , business advisory and valuation, consulting, employee- benefit plan audits, litigation support, forensic accounting, and other services.
