Lockton announced it has appointed Sara Romine to the position of executive vice president, chief legal officer and corporate secretary.

Romine will begin her new role effective November 1. She succeeds Trey Humphrey, who served in the role for 26 years.

Romine first joined Lockton in 2022 as a senior vice president of US general counsel. She went on to the role of deputy chief legal officer last year. Before joining the firm, she served as an assistant vice president of legal at AT&T for over 3 years, and prior to that she served as a partner at Carrington Coleman for over 9 years in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, according to her LinkedIn profile.

“Together, the team and I will build on the strong legal foundation that has been established and continue to provide the strategic counsel necessary to protect and accelerate Lockton’s vision for the future,” Romine said in the release.

Humphrey will continue to serve at Lockton as an associate while supporting Romine’s transition to chief legal officer of the firm, according to his LinkedIn profile.

“After 26 years at Lockton, it means a great deal to know the legal function will be led by someone who understands our business and our culture. I couldn’t be more pleased to see Sara take it forward,” Humphrey said in the release.
