Lenexa shopping center acquired by local owners

Orchard Corners Shopping Center near Oak Park Mall is now under the ownership of Block and Co. Marketed for national sale, management of the 200,000 square-foot, 19-acre center will remain local. Its sale price is undisclosed.

Acquisition of the property finalized at the tail-end of 2021. According to a news release from Block & Company, Inc., President David M. Block represented the buyers in the investment sale transaction. Ownership has been transferred to a new group of local investors including Block. CBRE Chicago represented the sellers in the transaction, the release said.

Over the years, the Lenexa shopping center is said to have maintained a high occupancy rate. Current key tenants include Nordstrom Rack, TJ Maxx, Michaels and a number of others including restaurants.

Constructed in 1971 and renovated in the 1990s, the location at the southwest corner of 95th Street and Quivira Road remains popular for its visibility and access to Oak Park Mall.
