Lenexa Council votes, approves $120 million mixed-used project

West Star Development has been given the green light on its proposed 46-acre retail-and-residential project at Prairie Star Parkway and Ridgeview Road. The project known as Vista Village, will include several retail and condominium buildings.

The $120 million mixed-use project will continue Lenexa’s plans to open the city in a 225-acre area, creating gateway to the metro area.

The Lenexa City Council voted 7-0 on Tuesday to approve Olathe-based West Star Development’s revised site plan for Vista Village. 

Formerly known as Jayhawk Ridge, the project includes seven retail buildings, 119 townhomes and a five-story, 207-unit condominium property.

The project details six retail buildings and a five-story, 207-unit condominium building will be on the west side, appearing as three separate buildings once it is constructed and connected by a lower-level parking garage.

Vista Village now awaits approval of its final developmental plans from the Planning Commission and City Council sometime this year.
