Lead Bank designates KC Crossroads as headquarters

A move from its principal location established in 1928 will relocate Lead Bank's headquarters closer to downtown Kansas City, Mo. The bank will sell its original Garden City, Mo. branch, a deal which includes $41 million in deposits and $25.6 million in loans.

A definitive agreement between Lead Bank and Community First Bank in Butler, Mo. will soon end with the latter’s acquisition of  Lead’s long-time Garden City, Mo. headquarters.

The sale will establish Lead’s KC Crossroads location as its new headquarters, which opened in October 2015.

Pending regulatory approval, the branch will be acquired for an undisclosed amount but includes around $41 million in deposits and $25.6 million in loans.

Lead Bank Vice Chairman and CEO Josh Rowland said after the branch is sold, the bank officially will move its headquarters to its 1801 Main St. location in Kansas City’s Crossroads Arts District. The bank has one other location at 9019 S. Missouri Highway 7 in Lee’s Summit.

The Garden City location was the original location for Garden City Bank, which was founded in 1928. The bank was acquired in 2005 by Landon Rowland, former chairman and CEO of Kansas City Southern Industries. Its brand was changed to Lead Bank in 2010.

The deal is expected to complete in the second quarter.
