Largest StorTropolis Self-Storage Facility In KC Metro Comes To Olathe

Hunt Midwest is building its sixth and largest StorTropolis self-storage facility in Olathe, Kansas, expanding its reach in the Kansas City metro area.

StorTropolis self-storage units are climate-controlled to maintain steady a temperature and levels of humidity.

StorTropolis Olathe will include 112,987 leasable square feet across 867 total climate-controlled units of a variety of sizes, ranging from 5-foot by 5-foot square units to 13-foot by 42-foot units for boats, RVs, and other large equipment, according to a release. StorTropolis Olathe will be located at 601 N Millridge Street, just off K-7 and 135th Street next to the Walmart Supercenter and ALDI grocery store.

The new Olathe location is expected to open in September 2024.

StorTropolis location amenities include:

  • Advanced security included gated entry and 24-hour video surveillance
  • Customer call center staffed 24/7
  • Climate-controlled, enclosed loading bay with direct unit access
  • Oversized elevators

“We’re thrilled to expand our presence in the growing self-storage industry with our sixth StorTropolis, a best-in-class product that meets the needs of homeowners and renters alike,” Senior Vice President at Hunt Midwest, Doug Coleman said.

Upon completing construction the company will have a total of six locations including; Olathe, Brighton, Tiffany Springs, Blue Springs, Shawnee and Lenexa.
