KCK school board approves March 1 start for spring sports



Plans to continue with high school spring sports this year was approved by the Kansas City, Kan. school board on Tuesday. Spring conditioning will start next week for student athletes and the regular season will begin March 1.

The Kansas City, Kansas school board approved a plan Tuesday to start spring high school sports on March 1.

Spring conditioning for student-athletes would start Monday.

The school district said that under the plan it will follow Wyandotte County’s COVID-19 recommendations, which would mean no spectators at competitions and only 50% capacity.

School officials said more details would be released soon by schools and coaches.
