The Kansas City Current’s next stadium has been approved by the City of Riverside and will begin construction in July.

During the City of Riverside, Missouri, Board of Aldermen meeting on Tuesday, a new $16.8 million stadium was approved for development. The agreement was established between the City of Riverside and KC WFC Riverside LLC. The stadium will be located at 5000 NW Canal St.

The outdoor stadium will consist of 2,000 seats in a 17,000 square-foot single-story performance center. The structure will also include indoor/outdoor training areas, locker rooms, a player lounge and a multipurpose meeting room.

As part of the agreement, the Riverside Aldermen members approved Taxable Industrial Revenue Bonds for the project, which will help cover construction and materials.

The Kansas City Current’s CPKC Stadium opened to fans in March 2024. The new Riverside stadium is located approximately 10 miles away from CPKC.

The KC Current Riverside Stadium groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, July 17, at 1 p.m.
