The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services will restore 500 jobs for operations centers in Lee’s Summit and Overland Park. USCIS laid off approximately 1,000 people at its National Benefits Center locations in the metro area last year.

A bipartisan group of congressional members and senators representing the area jointly announced the turnaround.

U.S. Sen. Roy Blunt, R-Missouri, said restoring all positions that have been eliminated at the National Benefits Center “has been and will continue to be a bipartisan priority.”
