Kauffman Foundation Investing $79 Million to Encourage Higher Education

The Kauffman Foundation has announced a 10-year, $79 million investment in KC Scholars, a program developed by the Foundation and 70 community partners to, as the KS Scholars website states, “increase postsecondary education attainment in the greater Kansas City area.”

Michael Roane, KC Scholars Implementation Committee co-chair and human resources chief at JE Dunn Construction said, “By 2020, two out of three jobs will require more than a high school diploma. In Kansas City, we know there are not enough high school graduates entering college and completing their higher degree. KC Scholars will help to close that gap.”
