Kauffman Affiliate, UMKC Launching Start-Up Networking Forum

Entrepreneur Business Basics, a Kauffman Foundation affiliate, will unveil a new piece of the support ecosystem for entrepreneurs this week, in partnership with the Block School of Management at UMKC. The organization announced today that it would launch Kansas City’s Great Connect: The Entrepreneur’s Network at 6 p.m. Thursday in Pierson Auditorium on the UMKC campus.

The free event is solely focused on building connections and sharing the entrepreneurial experience, said EBB founder Kira Cheree.

“The art of networking is vital especially for entrepreneurs,” Cheree said. “Generally, entrepreneurs are so laser-focused on their business, they forget the importance of networking.  Networking allows you to meet upcoming and established professionals; someone who is considering starting a business, someone in the start-up phase, an established business owner, a serial entrepreneur or a traditional corporate leader. These people are potential collaborators, troubleshooters, gate-keepers, problem-solvers, referrals or mentors. These are people that can help you sustain your business.”
