Johnson County Community College president Andy Bowne announced he will be resigning effective Jan. 2, 2024.

During the Board of Trustees meeting last week, Dr. Andy W. Bowne, EdD, announced his resignation as president. He became the college’s sixth president in July 2020, when he succeeded the former president Joe Sopich.

JCCC plans to announce an interim president in Jan. 2024.

In an email sent out Thursday, Board of Trustees chair Lee Cross attached a letter from Bowne in which Bowne said he and the board “have agreed to part ways,” Shawnee Mission Post’s Kyle Palmer reported.

Bowne has not given an explanation regarding his resignation at this time.
