Johnson County Community College announced its new interim president for the college following the former president’s resignation in December.
The JCCC Board of Trustees appointed Dr. Judy Korb, Ph.D., as interim president for this institution, beginning effective Thursday.
Korb has served JCCC for 34 years. She has most recently served as the interim executive vice president, student success and engagement. From 2013 to 2017, she served as Executive Vice President, Instruction and Operations, according to a release by the institution.
In 2017 Korb left her full-time role at JCCC to pursue a consulting business and return to teaching. She has since stayed connected to JCCC as an adjunct professor in the Business division.
“Dr. Korb will bring a breadth of knowledge informed by insights from her vast experience in higher education, specifically the Community College sector across the nation,” JCCC Board Chair, Lee Cross said in the release. “She will provide JCCC with excellent leadership that will advance the College while we prepare to launch a formal search for our seventh President.”
The former JCCC president Andy Bowne announced he would be resigning from his position in December. He became president in June 2020 and succeeded Joe Sopich.
