Horizon Global Distribution Hub Opening Soon

Horizon Global, which makes towing and trailering equipment, announced today that it was nearly finished with construction of its 512,000-square-foot distribution facility in Edgerton, which is expected to create more than 120 new jobs.

The site will serve as the main hub for the company’s Horizon Global Americas Division. As part of the company’s larger distribution strategy, it will be supported by strategically placed regional distribution facilities throughout the U.S.

“Our company conducted a freight management and distribution study and, ultimately, selected Edgerton as an ideal location for the center of our North American distribution operations,” said Ron Dill, director of Operations and Logistics. “When the Edgerton facility begins shipping to Horizon Global customers by the end of the year, it will provide improved delivery times and service levels for our aftermarket and retail customers, while also providing savings to the company through a more efficient distribution platform.”

Nick Jordan, interim secretary for the Kansas Department of Commerce, called Horizon Global “the latest excellent company to make Kansas its home. … We look forward to working with Horizon Global and other great companies to continue the tradition of logistics excellence in the state of Kansas.”

Overall, Horizon Global has about 4,200 employees in 64 facilities across 20 countries.
