Hoffmann Family of Companies is expanding its real estate ownership in Missouri with the purchase of two more wineries in Augusta, Mo. The buy adds 250 acres on top of its previously purchased 500 acres, which Hoffmann plans to use to create the largest vineyard and winery development in the Midwest.

Naples, Fla.-based Hoffmann Family of Companies has swooped in and purchased two more wineries in Augusta, Mo., adding to acreage which the company hopes to use to turn the area into the largest win destination in the Midwest and beyond.

Hoffman Family of Companies is run by founder David Hoffmann and his wife, Jerri. Both are natives of Washington, Mo.

The most recent acquisition by Hoffmann includes a Montelle and Augusta winery, each tacking on 250 more acres of vineyards to the 500 already purchased by the company in the area.

With its current portfolio, the company said it could invest as much as $100 million in the area to create the largest vineyards and winery development in the Midwest.

“We continue discussions with other vineyards that we hope we will successfully acquire by April’s end,” the company said in a news release.

Part of the planned development, aside from the wineries, includes a hotel, corporate center, a nine-hole par-three golf course, a five-star restaurant and other attractions.

Prior to the purchase of the Montelle and Augusta wineries, Hoffmann Family of Companies acquired the Balducci Winery and Vineyards, Knoernschild Vineyards, The Old Augusta Wine Company Building and the town’s old country feed store and grocery in early January 2021.
