Heroes in Healthcare Alum Takes on New Role

One of our former Heroes in Healthcare honorees has just taken on a big role in the nursing field.  Janie Schumaker (’09) was just named the Executive Director of the Board of Certification for Emergency Nurses.

When she was profiled in Ingram’s February 2009 edition, Schumaker was three years removed from helping establish the Eastern Kansas Chapter of the Emergency Nurses Association.  She also served as the group’s first president.  At the time of her profile, Schumaker had been working at Providence Medial Center for four years.
