Heartland Coca-Cola Bottling Company announced the grand opening of its new, state-of-the-art production campus in Olathe.
The new $400 million facility, located at 17100 South Hedge Lane, consists of a 700,000 square foot campus on 150 acres with four state-of-the-art production lines. Aluminium can line speeds can reach up to 2,000 cans per minute, and plastic bottle lines can reach up to 900 bottles per minute. The facility’s packaging capability accommodates a variety of beverage products from 7.5-oz cans to 2-liter bottles.
Heartland Coca-Cola services Kansas, Missouri, southern Illinois and counties within Iowa and Nebraska. Founded in 2017 by former NBA star Junior Bridgeman, Heartland Coca-Cola has over 25,000 customers, 10 million consumers, and sells more than 50 million cases annually in its territory. In April, Heartland Coca-Cola named Justin Bridgeman as the new chief executive officer after his father, Junior Bridgeman, died on March 11.
“This campus allows us to innovate faster, produce more sustainably, and deliver the beverages our consumers love with greater precision and care,” Bridgeman said in the release. “Just as important, it enables us to train and equip our employees with 21st-century technology and skills, ensuring they’re prepared to lead the way in a rapidly evolving industry. It’s a major step forward in our journey to be the best bottler in the Coca-Cola system and a long-term partner in the communities we serve.”
The facility will enable Heartland Coca-Cola to increase production capacity, improve efficiency and reduce environmental impact and sustainability, enhance product quality and work for its employees, according to the release.
