Overland Park-based Menorah Medical Center announced Janie Thompson will be joining the hospital as chief operating officer.

Thompson, a Leawood native, will be returning to Johnson County after most recently serving as COO for HCA Healthcare’s St. David’s Georgetown Hospital in Texas. She served as COO there for over a year, according to her LinkedIn profile.

During her time at St. David’s Georgetown Hospital, Thompson also served roles as vice president of operations, assistant administrator and administrative resident. She also helped the hospital launch its first cardiovascular catheterization lab, expanded imaging services—including 24/7 CT capabilities—and weekend MRI coverage as well as upgrades to the new CT scanner and fluoroscopy suite.

“Many members of my family have been patients at Menorah Medical Center over the years, including my grandmother, who was cared for with love and compassion during her time as a patient,” Thompson said in a release. “It is an honor to join the Menorah family, committed to innovation and expanding to meet the growing community’s needs and contribute my expertise and passion.”

Thompson earned a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience and a Master’s in Healthcare Administration from Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas.

Earlier this month, HCA Midwest Health also announced Josh Gill had been appointed chief operating officer of Lee’s Summit Medical Center.
