Garmin Ltd. Announces General Counsel Transition, Executive Stepping Down



Retiring Garmin Ltd. executive leader Andrew Etkind is stepping down from his role of general counsel, Josh Maxfield will assume the role effective July 1.

Garmin Ltd. company veteran, Andrew Etkind, announced he is stepping down from his role as general counsel effective July 1, 2024. He will remain with the company as vice president and secretary.

Etkind joined Garmin in 1998 and became the company’s first general council. Since working at Garmin, Etkind developed a strong global in-house legal team with experience in intellectual property, litigation, compliance, contract negotiation, mergers and acquisitions as well as corporate governance, according to a release.

Additionally, Garmin announced Josh Maxfield will take up the general council position. Maxfield, who joined Garmin in 2006, will assume the role of vice president, general counsel and assistant secretary, according to the release.

Before joining Garmin, Maxfield served as a member of the corporate and transactions practice at Polsinelli PC in Kansas City.

Garmin is incorporated in Switzerland but is headquartered in Olathe, Ks.
