Former Hallmark Exec Appointed to State Board of Education

Carol Hallquist, the former President of the Hallmark Corporate Foundation and founder of PrincipalsConnect, has been appointed to the Missouri State Board of Education by Governor Mike Parson.  She will be joined by fellow new-appointee, Peter Herschend, who is the co-owner and co-founder of the Herschend Family Entertainment Corporation, formerly  Silver Dollar City, Inc.

Hallquist retired as the President of the Hallmark Corporate Foundation in 2016 after serving in the role for eight years.  She was also a fellow at Harvard’s 2016 Advanced Leadership Initiative.

“Governor Parson’s decision to appoint Carol and Peter will help restore and maintain stability,” said Charlie Shields, President of the Missouri State Board of Education.  “As a board, we are ready to work together to give Missouri students what they deserve – the best public education.”
