Wisconsin-based electrical engineering and design firm Faith Technologies was approved for nearly $240 million in industrial revenue bonds for a three-building project in Olathe.

The Olathe City Council voted unanimously to approve a master resolution for $239.8 million in industrial revenue bonds for Faith Technologies’ manufacturing facility expansion.

The project would see the construction of three manufacturing buildings of approximately 500,000 square feet each, on an approximately 118.08-acre site located at the SW corner of 167th & Lone Elm Rd. Funds from the IRB will also go toward site work, infrastructure, furniture, fixtures and equipment.

The expansion will be built in phases. While the firm plans to build three climate-controlled manufacturing facilities, the IRB taht were approved during the City Council meeting only funds the first two buildings as part of phase one.

Building 1 will be located on the southwest corner of 167th and Lone Elm, followed by Building 2, which would be located directly south of Building 1 along Lone Elm. Building 3 would be constructed as part of phase two of development.

Upon completion, the project would create approximately 1,000 jobs, with an additional 13-20 employees hired for the first ten years of the project, according to city documents.

Faith Technologies requested a 10-year, 80% property tax abatement, with the company making payments through an annual payment-in-lieu-of-taxes (PILOT) plan.

ARCO National Construction – KC is the contractor, and GMA Architects is the lead architect for the project. Polsinelli attorney Curtis Holland represented Faith Technologies’ application.

In 2019, Faith Technologies purchased a 450,000-square-foot warehouse in Olathe for $22 million, which was formerly occupied by apparel retailer PacSun. That purchase led to the firm adding about 780 jobs to its operations.
