Every seat in the Kansas State House of Representatives is up for re-election in 2018. Of the 125 districts, 47 candidates are running uncontested. Thirty-seven districts have just a Republican running, twenty-three have just a Democrat running, while there are two districts with a Republican against a Libertarian and two districts with a Democrat against a Libertarian.
Here’s the full list of Republicans and Democrats running for a seat in the 2018 Kansas House of Representatives.
Libertarians running, will not be listed in primary:
District 17: Michael Kerner
District 29: Robert Firestone
District 33: Jason Conley
District 66: Edgar Chambers
District 91: David Loomis
District 107: Brian Bombardier
There will be a special election for District 13 in the Kansas Senate this November to fill the remaining term of Jake LaTurner. Currently, Richard Hilderbrand (Rep.) holds that seat. He was appointed to that seat by former Governor Sam Brownback who was replacing Ron Estes who had just won his own special election to replace Mike Pompeo in the US House. Hilderbrand is running uncontested against Democrat Bryan Hoffman, who is also running uncontested. Sam Habjan is running as the Libertarian candidate.
